Recovery, like most topics these days, is extremely online. Due to 2020 upending all of our lives with the COVID-19 pandemic, we’ve had to seek out recovery options online, and, thankfully, there are more digital options than ever. Even though things have largely returned to “normal” in the last few months, some aspects of lockdown are here to stay, including recovery podcasts. In lockdown, we were left without the option to meet IRL, which meant turning to other means of filling our recovery cup. Podcasts worked really well for a lot of us! With a podcast, you can find a way to relate, get advice, and feel a sense of community and camaraderie just when we all need it most.
In my former binge-drinking party girl phase, I assumed sober people were boring AF. These recovery podcasts prove that I was wrong. My misconceptions came from the fact that I had little to no experience with sober people, so I relied heavily on tired tropes portrayed in film and TV. If I had heard podcasts like these from people living proud, out loud, sober lives, maybe I would have stopped drinking sooner.

These nuanced conversations prove that sobriety is nonlinear. No two stories are alike, but we are all on shockingly similar paths. With that in mind, we’re bringing you the ultimate list of recovery and sobriety-based podcasts to accompany you on your journey
